i have an 05 tc manual. ive been having issues with grinding ever since i bought it, one person recommended putting some royal purple in it. so ive decided i want to change the gear oil even if that doesnt solve the prob, it will give me something to do, but ive never done this on a manual before.
If you do find how to change the fluid, check for little pieces of metal or rubber in the old oil/fluid. That means a gear is about to give out. It could also be a simple clutch adjustment to push the throw out bearing out a little more. The adjustment is on the rod that pushes a fork forward.
All manual transmissions have a drain plug on the bottom of the unit and a fill plug about half way up on the side. Most newer models use transmission fluid and not gear oil, so check your vehicles specific requirements. Hope this helps. Christopher
If there is no drain plug you will have to find the fill plug. It is about halfway up the side of the transmission. You will need to suck out the oil with a pump and replace it through this filler hole. If there is a drain, simply drain it and refill thru the filler plug.
No it will only void problems associated with the exhaust system. Dealerships have a way of making you thinking what you did wrong always caused the problem, if you were to run into one.
Yes installing any aftermarket parts will void your warranty even the stupidest little stuff unless you keep the old exhaust and put it on everytime you take it in
