Question:

How to check my motorcycle brake fluid?

I'm just a new motorcycle rider so I want to know what to check to make sure that my motorcycle fluid is ok?

Answer:

Theres a resevior either above where the swing arm attachs to the frame or on your handle bars.
The reservoir has markings on it to show where the level should be. Usually, you NEVER need to top up brake fluid--any leak will be obvious, as braking will be seriously affected, and there will be fluid around the location of the leak. If the fluid is low, it usually simply means that your brake pads are fairly worn, and the brake pistons have moved out of the calipers to compensate. If you add fluid at that point, you will then need to remove fluid when the pads are replace, and the pistons are further back in their calipers again. Fluid should be clear and colourless. Replace it if it isn't.
