How do I check the transmission fluid level on a 92 6 cylinder F150 automatic while it is cold.
Worn out tires are never safe. I would get the tires replaced asap.
you want to replace the two rear before you have a blow-out! most people dont look at the inside of there tires and if they are worn out the chances of steel showing on the inside of your tire are pretty good,dont take any chances, most people today buy two tires at a time, because some tires are very expensive and to buy 4 at a time can get very expensive!
Rotate the front tires to the rear and buy yourself a pair of tires. Don't drive around with worn out tires and become a safety hazard for the rest of us.
You should check it when the transmission is warmed up. Drive it around the block a couple of times then park it and LEAVE THE ENGINE RUNNING. Pull out the transmission dip stick (the handle is usually red), clean it and then put it back in and pull it out again. Check the level on it, it should be between the high and low marks. If it is low, add the appropriate trans fluid through the dip stick tube using a funnel.

Determine whether your transmission fluid is at the proper level by finding the spot on the dipstick where the film of fluid ends. If the film ends near the full mark or somewhere near the halfway point between full and add, your transmission has an adequate fluid level. 7. Return the dipstick to the holding tube and push it all the way back down into the tube. Fully seat the dipstick in the holding tube.
