I am working on getting a contract through a copper plant and what I am supposed to be doing is cutting 40x20 inch copper discs, 40 inch circles 20 inches deep, I started today using a concrete saw, it took 2hours to simply make one cut and that destroyed an entire blade, what would be a more efficient option of doing this
You need to cut a piece of copper that's 40 inches wide by 20 inches thick? Like 1000 pounds of copper? What are you cutting it from? First off, a concrete saw is entirely the wrong saw - I understand a concrete saw as having a diamond blade. You would need a metal cutting, toothed saw for that. What I'd do is get a bigger hammer - go to a large machine shop with a 48 lathe or bigger and big milling machines. Get an estimate and just mark it up for your contract.
