Question:

How to find quartz? (easy 10 points)?

Hi my name is Simon and I am 12 years old. I live in Far North Queensland in a city called Cairns. I've looked every where and dug around a lot and can't find anything. I really want to find some quartz or crystal. One time when i was at the beach i dug a hole nearly as deep as I am tall with a garden spade and couldn't find anything at all! where should I look? do you have any quartz/mineral maps of northern Cairns? I wouldn't mind any galena/calcite either. If you know any gold in the area that would be awesome. Best answer will get 10 points!

Answer:

Quartz is more durable as it is 95% natural quartz mixed with polymer resins to make it more flexible therefore more durable. It is more scratch resistant, more wear resistant and less likely to stain than granite, which can be stained by things like lemon juice and red wine. However, they are more expensive than granite worktops. It is hard to say what is better value as it depends on what you are after. Granite is still a brilliant material for a kitchen worktop.
They are both durable at a same rate actually. And granite cost more, but quartz is less. But for granite it depends on where you get it also. So that can differ in price.
It is a personal decision. Granite can range from quite cheap to extremely expensive; however the quartz tops (such as Silestone, Caesarstone, etc) are also quite expensive. They are a bit more durable as they do not chip or stain as much as natural stone. Natural stone also needs polishing re-sealing every few years. I tend to use the quartz because I do more modern houses and the look we want is a uniform one such as the pure blizzard white of the caesarstone or the cool grey of cement caesarstone. It is also a bit warmer to the touch than stone which can be really cold sitting at it in the am. But it is personal and depends on what look you want.
We equipped our residing house a year in the past. It replaced into this type of headach determining what counter precise cloth. We narrowed it right down to granite... Uba Tuba. It replaced into eye-catching. Holds up surprising, yet do no longer cut back on it... it would uninteresting your knives. Neadless to declare we ended up w/ a custom made cloth. The Uba Tuba replaced into too busy w/ each and all the hickory pine in our residing house. the cloth is almost a quartz yet replaced into custom made in 2 products to in good shape my kitchen format shade to journey my partitions. verify you ask approximately stains chipping whilst finding at counter aspects. I propose going to a uniqueness keep. sturdy luck.
