I live at a really hot place and don`t want to keep on spending money on popsicles
I operate a youth hostel and have had to deal with lots of sounds and noises, and at the same time, handle it economicallyOne of the better sound deadener's are what are called black out curtains in the hotel industryIn the sound industry they're called something like sound deadening curtains and can be expensiveThe curtains have a colored/design material that has a rubber coating on the back side of the material, then another layer of loose material that hangs loose in the backI buy these curtains used and cheap through hotel liquidators, thrift stores, or sometimes directly from a motel/hotel that is replacing themMost of the time, they are cheap or free because they are not the latest color or designIf you aren't too picky about color/design, you might try putting up a couple of layers of these curtains (floor to ceiling) in your roomIf you want proper curtains or sound deadening materials and have the money, check out the link belowYou will be surprised at how quiet rubberized floor to ceiling curtains will make your roomBasically, you will be having the sound energy be absorbed by the rubber backing int he curtainThe rubber converts the sound energy to heat energy(curtains don't get warm but since you can't destroy sound energy you need to convert it to some other kind of energy)
the best way to deaden sound is with cork boardsinsulation boards have too many air passages thru the fibers to be used as a sound deadener
Do you have a walmart near you? The large Hawaiian Punch is $1.97 which is the lowest price in townJust pick your favorite flavor and pour into moldsThe popsicle molds are pretty inexpensiveYou can substitute by using a plastic cup and inserting a popsicle stickYou just need something to keep the popsicle stick in the middle- if you save the tops off of to-go cups, you can just lay those on top or use aluminum foil- poke a tiny hole and just barely tear it to fit the popsicle stick.
