Question:

How to melt jolly ranchers and use them on my gingerbread house?

I want to melt some blue jolly ranchers to put on the base of my ginger bread house (cardboard) so it will look like a lakeBut how should I go about doing that? How do I melt them and then how do I pour it on the base so that it dries in the shape of a pond? what can I put around th lake so that the jolly rancher stuff stays in there? any other tips would help alot thanks!

Answer:

Pre heat the oven to 350degrees FMake the shape as suggested out of aluminum foilPlace the foil shape on a cookie sheet or baking panCrush the candies and pour the broken candy onto the foil shapeMake sure you have enough to have a good depthI think I would use a combination of blues and some green to get a natural look to the waterBake in a pre heated oven until candies are melted may take 15 minutes or soWatch closelyAs soon as the candies are melted remove from oven and allow to coolHandle with care as melted sugar burns are very painfulThis is pretty much the same idea as the stained glass cookies you see where cookies have a cut out area and crushed candies are baked right with the cookie to give a stained glass look to the cookie.

Right now? I have no more energy!.
