Question:

how to preform a vibrato?

via singing, not on an instrument.some times, i feel like i sense one when i sing, but over all its just me raising, and lowering the air pressure. i highly doubt im doing it right.so...i know nothing about the throat, so ANY tips/advice/info on the throat and/or a vibrato would be greatly appreciated(though please dont say things such as go see a music/singing teacher)

Answer:

It's a good sign that you can occasionally think you might feel a natural vibrato coming into your voice. Concentrate on that, and on quickly trilling from one note to the other. It might be a good idea to listen to music by singers who have a good vibrato. I can't help you with screamers but I'd advise not to over strain your voice and throat. Always focus on using your diaphragm to support your notes.
Vibrato is a natural occurrence when the voice is supported properly and placed correctly (and many other bits and pieces). It probably won't come across naturally if you are screaming because that puts a lot of pressure on the throat and the vocal folds won't vibrate as they do in an opera singer with even and natural vibrato. I don't advise you to go to a vocal instructor because they won't be able to teach what you want to accomplish. But, I advise that you find a way to scream in a more nasal voice than a throaty one. That will make you last longer. Think of when kids tease each other saying, nyah nyah nyah in a very nasal voice. That spot will keep you from throwing your larynx down artificially.
