Okay I have a cat and a dog. The dog sheds a lot of fur. And it sticks to my clothes, blanket, shoes, socks, pants, etc. I use the rollers but the hair sticks back. What is the best way to remove fur? Is there a machine that help clothes jot attract fur?

I was going to suggest the same thing - you detector is still plugged in even though you removed the battery. Can you take the bedroom detector down from the ceiling? By now you must have replaced the battery in the hallway so you are back to only one beep. I know it is irritating. I have a cathedral ceiling and have wait for someone with an extension ladder to come replace the battery in that detector. And it just keeps beeping. :)

Nope! If there was ever a fire, I would probably be running away, not trying to put it out! Not to be mean of course, I am just not that brave. But, I have used one in games before.
