Wait for a nice hot day, then with your garden hose , hose it down. I would say better to wash all of the rug at the same time, if you spot clean only, you will be left with clean patches and rest will look bad, Be sure to wash when the weather is hot , so this way the carpet will dry through out

rent a rug steamer/shampooer, the kind that sucks up the water, and run that over the spot without adding rug shampoo to the cleaner.

Use a 20%solution of hair conditioner with water and rinse Allow to dry and vacuum up the residue. lol
