Alarm is extra sensitive. It goes off for no reason.
There is a product called Plexus, or any window cleaner that is ammonia-free. The ones with ammonia may ruin the finish if it has anti-fog coating, or if the face shield is tinted.
Soak a wash cloth in warm water. Drape it over the shield to soften the bug guts. Wipe off, repeat as necessary.
Bugs and grit can scratch the face shield so gentle cleaning is in order. All you need is an old wash cloth and hot water. Soak the cloth with hot water from your tap and drape over the shield and front of the helmet, let it soak for a couple of minutes. Re-soak the rag with hot water and gently wipe the remains of the bugs off the faceshield and helmet. don't leave the bugs on the helmet, wash it frequently. Bug guts are mildly corrosive and can pit your faceshield.
scratches are the demon here, what I do is take the sheild off the helmet and submerge it in a vessel and lightly wipe clean. Rainaway works well as a surface prep.
