Question:

How to stop lint from falling off a knit scarf?

I have a white knit scarf that I recently washedI was an idiot and dried it in the dryerConsequently, everytime I wear it loadsssss of lint and cotton fibers fall outIs there any way to make it stop or did I permanently ruin it? Can I just wash it again and let it air dry this time?

Answer:

Cut off the frayed part, if it isn't too longThen put clear nail polish on the endLet it dry, then put it through the eyeletIt should work.
Trim off the frayed endThen use some tape (electrical tape may work) to wrap the end as tightly as you canSee if they will fitIf that doesn't work, try some glue and moosh it into the end and swirl to a pointLet dryLater on you can look for new boot lacesYou probably could get them at one of those shoe repair shopsThe kind that sell new soles and special shoes for people w/diabetes and foot problems.
If it has any amount of angora in the yarn, it won't stop sheddingWashing it just loosened up those fibersTry putting it in the dryer with no heat and a few damp wash clothsLet it tumble for 15 minutes or so and see if the loose fibers will release.
