Question:

How to stop on a Motorcycle?

So I‘m taking a couple of private lessons before i take the MSF, I‘m having trouble stopping the bike smoothly from 2nd gear. The instructor told me to brake first and then clutch + downshift, Is it possible to just brake and clutch, then downshift after I‘m stopped?

This Site Might Help You. RE: do you have to use flux when soldering copper pipes?
Pipe and fittings should be polished first (000 steel wool works good). After the complete joint surface (both pieces) is prepared, DO NOT TOUCH those surfaces then apply your flux paste preheat the joint at a point away from edge of the joint. The heated area will 'draw' the solder in and flow around the joint surface you prepared. Flux in welding/soldering breaks down the oxides (rust) making uniform flow of the bonding agent. It does not clean grease or oils, which is why you never touch a freshly polished joint.even finger oils can fouls up an otherwise tidy joining procedure.
Some bikes won't shift into first easily regardless of braking and clutch use. Try hitting neutral on first tap, then first just before you put your feet down. You may need to declutch after neutral just to make sure. As one of the other answers mentioned, at low speed you should pull the clutch with the brake anyways to avoid stalling and reduce momentum.
if you try to down shift after stopping it the bike will have trouble going down the gears because it isnt rolling so you cant really do that. you could brake with the clutch in and click the gears down while the bike is moving. this is waht i used to do because it was easy but i ended up really bad at downishifting on the go which was a problem in stop and go traffic because i would have to come to a full stop then get stared again now i use the real way the real way is to brake clutch downshift one gear then let the clutch out then pull it in and downshift another gear and repeat until you come to a stop. using both brakes. no im much better at downshifting and can keep it in the right gear to keep going in slow traffic but im having problems using bothe brakes when i do it which creates a bad habit of not using a front brake. this is something you will have to keep in mind the more you start to downshift.
Brake first, 80% of braking is done with the wheel only. The clutch and downshift are part of the same step, the idea of the downshift is to get into 1 while you're moving and able to move your foot. Not only are instructors good riders, they are good instructors, can't be said about a lot of good riders.
