Phil has a good answerTo indulge further, in my 15 years in electronics I have work in the automotive field designing the electronic seats with memory feature, electric steering, fuel injection, and even keyless entryI now consult engineers with the use of semiconductors to design things such as: solar power converters; motor control; LED lighting, etc Its a great field, I love itThe electronic engineer will take a concept (Say LED lighting) understand the requirements: input power, output power, efficiency requirements, output light power, size of designThe engineer will create an initial design called schematicWill either 'bread board' (hand wire) components to verify operation or create a PCB (Printed Circuit Board), the green board you see in electronic productsAfter this becomes all the tedious parts of engineering: testing, development, prototypes, paper work, etc etc etcOf course there is the problem solvingNOTHING works out the first, 2nd, third, etctimeYou have to love puzzles and find out the amazing question of WHY? In the end, nothing is better than seeing YOUR design go into productionGood luck.

There is one possibility, but it's very dangerous and would require a lot of experience That is thermitePowdered aluminum mixed with powdered iron oxide will ignite and produce a huge amount of heat, and a pool of liquid iron, which will melt through most things That could be, in theory, made to boil water to steam which runs a steam turbine that drives an electric generator But this is very dangerous, and I doubt your teacher or school would allow itAnd, it would take years of development by experienced engineeers, and a much larger package than you need
