Question:

How To Use An Iron?

I want to use an iron-on transfer, but I don‘t know how to use an iron. It says to use a dry iron on cotton settings, but my cotton setting uses steam. Please don‘t chide me or make fun of me for not knowing how to use an iron; I‘m just looking for answers. I don‘t want to ruin my new pillowcase.

Answer:

rep has nothing to do with reporting
Use the other tips to find out about the steam. Use firm pressure on to the pillow case and keep the iron moving to prevent burning. Use circles if possible.
definitely don't use steam it would ruin your iron on transfer. if your iron is a steam iron sometimes there is a button on the top of the handle that you could push so that no steam comes out. also don't put any water in your iron because that wouldn't allow any steam. plug in your iron and turn the dial to a medium setting and let it heat up a little. when you go to iron on your transfer place the transfer on your fabric then put another piece of fabric over the transfer and iron in gentle strokes. absolutely do not leave the iron in one place for a long amount of time because it will burn the fabric just make sure to constantly be moving the iron up back and forth across the fabric until your transfer is transferred onto the fabric.
I just learned to do iron-on transfers a few weeks ago, so I won't laugh, only help. If the Cotton setting on your iron also provides steam and there is no way to turn off the steam aspect, all you can do is empty every bit of water from the iron's reservoir, and steam away whatever traces remain by ironing on a scrap or ironing away any folds in that new pillowcase. An iron without water can't make steam. Voila! Cotton setting, only dry. BTW, I learned that trimming to within 1/4 or less of the printed design gave a cleaner-looking finished transfer. It was time-consuming but worth it. Don't forget to keep the iron moving, press down hard, and follow the manufacturer's instructions for when and how to remove the transfer sheet. Good luck!
