I have had some gutters and a downspout replacedThe new ones are glossy white and made of aluminumWhat do I use to paint them with the same latex house paint I used for my house exteriorSpecifically, do I need some kind of undercoat or primer prior to the finish coat?
I'd just go pick up some wax paper or parchment paperYou used to have to go to a specialty store to get parchment paper- now they are at every grocery storeUsually the recipe makes 60-70- so you don't want to deal with a bunch of them sticking to something elseAnd if you spray with Pam- it'll alter the taste.
The white paint that is on aluminum gutters is baked on at the factoryAluminum gutters don't rust (where did that guy go to school?) You will need to prime them to get your house paint to adhere to the guttersIf you just paint over them the paint will peel within a yearYou have to use a special primer made to paint aluminumIt ain't cheap! Why don't you just leave them white and save yourself a lot of work?
Just spray cookie sheet with Pam and you do not need anything else.
