Question:

How would the Symbol equation for Copper + Zinc Nitrate be?

I know the symbol for Zinc(Zn) & Copper(Cu) but I can't figure out the symbol for Nitrate/Nitric acid?:s

Answer:

There is no symbol equation foe copper + zinc nitrate. This is because no reaction can occur. If you put a strip of copper into a zinc nitrate solution nothing happens .This is because copper is well below zinc in the react5ivity series , so copper cannot displace the more reactive metal However , if you add zinc to a solution 0f copper nitrate , you will have a reaction that can be shown by the equation Zn(s) + Cu(NO3)2 (aq) → Cu+(s) + Zn(NO3)2 (aq) But the reaction is not reversible as you ask.
Nitrate is NO3- so the equation would be Cu + Zn(NO3)2
