Hardware store or maybe demolition sites where homes are being fixed up or renovated. However copper pipe can be reused many times so you may not find much there. As it is either reused or collected together to take to scrape metal as they pay for copper. You can also solder sheet metal(like from heating ducts) also copper wire, brass, gold,silver,. Solder is just liquid metal that acts like a glue to join metal to metal together. Remember the flux to make the welding surface super clean and you can get bored with it real fast. Buying copper pipe is expensive and joints (elbows, tees, caps, faucets, like I say once you know it, you lose that enchantment. Move on to real welding.arc or oxy acetylene or go fishing.
