I have a 2002 hyundai accent. I took it to the dealer because the transmission wasn‘t shifting properly. Today I called for an update and was told that they are flushing the transmission and doing some other things, but it looks like I will need a new transmission.1. I should still be covered under the 100,000 powertrain warranty, as I only have 87k, however the guy told me that it MIGHT be covered under warranty. I have a feeling that they are going to give me the run around for this (as far as i know, I have had all scheduled maintenance done). If they try to tell me that its not covered, what should I do?2. How much would a new transmission cost (non-dealer work)?3. Any of you ever had a problem getting warranty work done?
I posed your question about the dealer's comments of maybe being covered to my wife who works for a Hyundai dealer. Her answer to me was: He has to be the first owner, have had at least 2-transmission services ( 30,60 miles services, transmission flush) and they would have to look at it to see if he needs new transmission (it could be something else). If he is the second owner he only has 5yrs, 60,000 mile warranty. That's the Hyundai stance on this and hopefully you fall into the 1st owner status and have the required service work done too. Good luck
Tell your husband what flowers you would like by your hospital bed, he will be so proud you managed to learn how to ride from anonymous strangers on the internet and various videos. There are five basic controls on a bike, failure to use one of them properly can result in injury – don't you think it might be better to learn from someone who can teach you on a on-to-one basis – even if it is not your husband.
