I am hooking up a 1 channel amp to two subs. The subs have double connectors (2 pos, 2 neg on each sub) How in the hell do I do it?
what is the impedence of each coil? if you have 2 subs with 2 4 ohm coils, and an amp that is 1 ohm stable, you could hook all the negatives together, to the negative out of the amp, and all the positives together on the positive side given the information you provided, this is a likely scenario if you have dual 2 ohm subs, and an ampt that is 2 ohm stable, you would want to go one black to the other red on each speaker, then hook the remaining blacks to the negative side of the amp, and the remaining reds to the positive side more info is needed
yes its possible. and actully its not a problem at all just depends what kind of amp you have and what type of subs you have and if that amp is strong enough to handel the subs. I actully have a Rockford Power series amp 800.1bd with 2 jl audio w6 v.2 subs and it sounds great. If u havent bought your system yet i highly recommend geting a rockford power series amp. BUT to answer your question it is perfectly fine in some cases it will actully hit much harder since mono block has much more power. Also if u get a capicitor it can improve your sound quality by providing for power for you system as well as stop your head lights from diming everytime u turn up your system
the subs are duel voice coil. i like to bridge the duel voice coil subs myself. you get more bass, lower resistance, higher wattage. to bridge duel voice coil subs. on conn. A + POS/ - NEG. conn. B + POS/ - NEG. use the + POS from connector A and the -NEG from connector B. then with a jumper wire, jump -NEG connector A to +POS connector B
yeah man, more info is needed, like what kind of subs? what voice coil? wattage, all that is needeed,i will look back in a minute to see if you added more info as i described that is needed, then i will answer you again.
