Question:

I am just divorced-court ordered things returned to me. can i file charges for stuff broken/missing?

left the house for safety reasons. left everything behind except clothing. The things missing are from before marriage. I don't want any of his things-but he's being spiteful. Most of the items were from my father and grandmother who have both died. any serious help would be appreciated. don't send me emails about pre-nups.it's way past that. Thank you!

Answer:

That is a common scam, if you need to you may have to shut your phone off. Do not follow the instructions on the screen. It is not the FBI it is a scam artist trying to get you to pay them. The FBI would knock on your door, they don;t give warnings, they just arrest you. You did nothing wrong, ignore it and delete it
If you have an older home with galvanized pipes it could be rusting on the inside of the pipe to the point that you will get no water in the home. that means that the pipes need to be replaced.
If they are batteries, they probably new new ones. If they are hardwired into your electrical system, they may be detecting somerthing besides smoke. Some of the newer smoke detectors, particualrly those that are hard-wired into the electrical system also detect radon gas, or other nasty stuff. Air out the place. Ortake the covers off of the smoke detectors and look inside. They may have some cobb webs or other debris inside that is blocking the sensors and making it think there is smoke. Blow or brush them out with a soft duster.
