He works outside as an excavator he doesn't want anything fancy, he wants something durable and I don't know anything about it. but before I go to the jewlery store I want to know I am doing this right LOL
Tungsten Carbide is very strong, very hard, practically scratch-resistant and is a heavier darker metal. One downside to this metal is it can be difficult or impossible to resize so with weight fluctuations, may need to be replaced in the future. Other than that small detail, I think it's a great choice. It's also very affordable, so if the ring did need replacing, it can easily be done.
My husband got tungsten and he is very happy with it. I believe when I looked into it, tungsten - in an emergency - is reasonably easy to remove by medical personnel but unfortunately the ring is usually destroyed and cannot be fixed. My husband was working in a warehouse setting at the time we married and my concern was if his hand were ever injured --- saving a finger or his hand is more important to me than the ring so I wanted a ring that could be removed easily from him if necessary.
Like Nova Queen said, my husband also has a tungsten band. He did a LOT of research because he works in the automotive industry and wanted something that was going to be durable. He loves his ring. Also, like Nova Queen said, they are easy to cut off in an emergency. You can always ask your jeweler what they recommend, metals and alloys are changing on a regular basis! Also, look at the style of the band because he's gotta like that too ( = Good luck!
What all people else has suggested is real. My husband has a tungsten carbide ring and he loves it for the colour and weight. confident, it has the aptitude of chipping, cracking, and so on, yet in accordance to the jeweler it supposedly takes plenty to do exactly that. additionally, maximum rings shops have an entire life alternative coverage the place you will pay a one time cost and that they'll replace it or you will pay a value, if mandatory, to swap it. case in point, while i offered my husband's ring, i became into advised that if for some reason it chipped, shattered or would not fit him anymore, i might desire to pay $40 5 and get a clean ring. yet another shop had a one time cost of $199 for lifetime assure. All in all, my husband loves his ring and does not get the different steel.
Wow. I had no idea jewelery of any kind was made from tungsten or carbide. I thought the idea was to give precious metal as a symbol of love. If I was him I would want something made of gold or silver.
