It would have to come out of the dash and get some new parts installed. It probably has a worn belt, rubber roller, or micro-switch. Get a quote to service it based on your description. Call some electronic and TV repair guys. It may be best to replace it with something that fits in the same spot. Best get one that has CD and an Aux input so you can play digital files from an ipod type device. Or stop by a junkyard and see if they can match it.
