So me and my class are going to barcelona tomorrow and we are staying at the sun and moon hostel. i was reading some reviews and one of them said there was bed bugs and showed pictures of bites. How do i avoid bed bugs and bites and how do you get bed bug bites away??????? really scared!!!
Check your hotel bed for bed bugs as soon as you enter the room. Do not even unload your luggage until AFTER you've checked for bed bugs. Simply pull the sheets off part of the mattress and look for any sign of infestation....especially check in the seams of the mattress and between the mattress and box spring. Anything other than a pristine white mattress means bed bugs. If you see bugs, blood, stains, or feces, go to a different hotel or motel. Do not accept a different room at the same hotel. Most hotels will give you a refund if you only have the room for a few minutes. You might re-make the bed to be sure you get a refund. But whatever you do, do NOT stay in any hotel that has a questionable mattress. And there are bed bugs in every country....including the United States. They have become an epidemic. Bed bug infestations are now common across the globe....even in countries that are not third world countries. In fact, New York (in the United States) has such an epidemic that the government is now getting involved.

You are going to a civilized and developed country (Catalonia), not to the Third World. You worry about something inexistent. Where did you get those pictures from? Was it maybe a private flat being rent to tourists?
