Question:

I had to remove some drywall and insulation from my basement wall.?

I removed all the insulation up to the ceiling but only the bottom four feet of drywall, which means there is four feet of drywall towards the ceiling that is still in tactWill I be able to slide batts of insulation up behind those closed four feet between the studs, or do I have to rip out the entire wall (which I would rather not do) in order to get the batts up there? If I try this, are there any suggestions on how best to do it?

Answer:

ummmm,, is it like putting square peg into a round hole?,,,,lol
You construct a a thin board in the shape of a T,(1x4's) the top part T maybe 10 inches wide, the full length around 4 ft.Stretch out the Batten, fold about 1ftof insulation over the T.Holding the T end batten push it up the wall.when the bottom part of the batten matches the wall's end, hold the batten firm and continue pushing till the batten at the top of the T rolls off.
