They told me I had 10: floor joist so we ordered 10: insulation bats, now they say it was only 8quot; joist but that it quot;fit' just fineI thought you were not to smash insualtionWill this hurt on the floor? They are then covering it with plastic, and chicken wire to hold it all up!anyone???
Granny gave a good and helpful website.another tip is if you're making red meat tamales, add a bit of the red chili to the masa to tint it slightlyWhen making green chili tamales leave the masa whiteWe cook our meat in a crockpot overnightTo simplify, instead of making your red chili sauce from scratch like I do, use Las Palmas canned red chili or enchilada saucePlace roast in pot (beef or pork) sp, garlic powder and pour chili over and cook on low over night.the meat will be super tender and delicious! For green chili tamales use canned chopped green chilies and a slice of pepperjack cheese.YUM! Good luck! Oh and they freeze very well, we just ate the last of ours from Christmas! p.straditionally we also place a single whole pitted olive in the center of our red chilie tamales too.a nice surprise when eating:)
I haven't really done enough insulation over time to be an expert, but I know that insulation works better if it's fluffy not compressed, at all, unless you're just like stuffing it into cracks around windows and doors to stop air movement and loss I'd call the insulation manufacturers' 800 number that I'd bet is on one of the batt wrappersAsk them if 10 of batt insulation in an 8 cavity is acceptable They would certainly know.
