Question:

F150 Cold air intake?

I have a 2008 4.2l v6 f150 with a six inch lift on it. Would it b worth it to put a cold air intake in it. Would it even make a difference and if so how much? Also if u say yes which brand and model should I get? Thank you

Answer:

after market cold air intakes are sewer pipe technology/no known tests show any power boost/only shows lower gas miles and sometime pulls in water and that seizes the engine/cannot compress water/bends the rods
If for some reason you ever have another oil fire you should pour salt sugar, flour or any other dry ingredient onto it. Of course if you have the proper type fire extinguisher you should use that. Be safe.
Baking soda, or if you don't have that-salt. Do NOT EVER EVER EVER use water to put out an oil fire, Honey! You're so blessed that didn't turn out worse! Go to Walmart and get a small fire extinguisher.
It already has a cold air intake on it. So.why do you need to know how to put something on the truck, if it already has one?
I would use baking soda. It will get ride of the fire.
