Question:

I have domestic hot water off my boiler. . . .?

I am not getting hot water anymore and I am not sure if it is the mixing valve or the coil - I think that the coiler has calcium buildup? What would be a good economical fix? There are 4 adults in the household and since my domestic hot water never worked good I am not sure by replacing the coil that I would have enough hot water to take 2 consecutive showers. The problem I noticed when I first bought this home was that if you turn on a facet when someone was taking a shower the shower would get cold. I don't know if that is a normal thing or I should have enough hot water to run more than one faucet at a time with domestic hot water. I was thinking of getting a boiler mate or possibly the GE heat pump water heater which runs off of electric. I need your opinions fast my wife is going to kill me if she keeps having to take cold water. get my point??? hahah

Answer:

If you have a hot water copper tank that stores your hot water, then the cold water tank that refills the copper tank is low on water. this is caused by a partially blocked ball valve on the cold tank. This can cause the loss of hot water to the showe when a hot tap is opened elsewhere.
even if it is a 'new' new domicile you should were left with an guidance guide - ask for it. If is in uncomplicated terms new to you pass to the producer's information superhighway website with the type determination at hand, you may likely receive education. The efficient earnings of a combi is that no warm water is kept, once you turn on a tap the boiler will hearth up and grant warm water till the tap is became off. The Heating is on a similar idea, at the same time as the thermostat demands warmth the boiler grants warm water to the heating circuit and switches off at the same time as the thermostat tells it too. you'll discover your warm water is amazingly warm as between the negative aspects of a combi is the size of time taken to fill a bathtub, so very warm water needs more advantageous chilly further, hence the filling to a usable temp. is somewhat faster.
You are not being clear on what kind of water heater you have. Is it a combi central heat hot water? Is it a tankless coil on a oil unit? If you have a combi boiler it is probably the 3 way vale. This valve moves from hot water out to heat and visa versa. It could be calcified and needs to be cleaned. If you have an indirect water heater attached to the boiler the pump could be bad or you could have a control problem. You should call a pro and spend the money for a service call if you can not do this your self. Have someone come over and service the unit for the winter. Money well spent and household harmony!
