Question:

I have glass shard in my yard and I don't want my dogs to walk in it. Help me!?

These guys came and tore down my 2 sheds damaged last hurricane season. They used an excavator to know them down and broke a mirror that was in there and the 3 window, I have broken glass all over the demolition site. What can I do? Try to use a shop vac? Any advice please.

Answer:

The people with the excavator should have cleaned that up. You may have to scrape the top soil. Good luck
I'd pick all the big ones carefully and dispose them. Then use a shop vac to clean out the small ones. Not sure but have you considered some dog shoes till the place gets safe ?
Put on thick gloves and pick up as much as you can, then rake the rest up.For very small pieces, try picking them up with sticky tape or a lint roller. Then turn the soil over so that any glass leftover is buried under the ground. A shop vac might work, for some of the glass, though.
dances with woofs is right. and lots of other good ideas from the other answerers. another thing ya could do is clean it all up then gettin a wheel barrow and shovelin the top inch of dirt into the wheel barrow, then gettin some fresh dirt. careful, the excavaor coulda pushed some shards down into the dirt with just enough left stickin up to cut. the demolishers shoulda really not been stoned n drunk and taken out the breakables before smashin everything. maybe call the company that did the work, the boss, and tell them how effed up and shady the work was done. other than that clean up and get about 8 yards / tons of fresh topsoil and make a new yard. thanks for being worried about your pups....they have a good momma;)
You should check with an equipment rental place also. They may have a more industrial sized vacuum for this type of problem .
