Question:

I have moved into my new apartment(it was completed 2 months ago) in China and after a few days, I developed?

a nasty itch and rash all over my body and have been constantly scratching and i since gone to The apartment was very clean when i moved in and speaking to a chinese friend, they said that there are alot of harsh chemicals still with underdeveloped furnishings in the public elevator etc and I should open the windows 2 hours each day to get the ‘fresh air‘ exchange. The doc said i should move to an old apartment but i just moved in here! Does anyone have similar experiences ?

Answer:

Does it have sheet rock? China has been fined and exports of sheet rock have been sent back and torn out of houses and apartments here in the US. They are contaminated with a mold fungus and as always they never admit to it or do much to change it. So if it is not the sheet rock then maybe the paint who knows half the products from China are defected in one way or another.
Paint odors could be the problem. Keep your windows open and use a fan to keep the air circulating. Your doctor should have given you a prescription for the rash. Playa Dude and Sailor 8 have obviously never been to China because sheet rock is not used as a building material there. China has much stricter building and fire codes than the United States. All Chinese structures are built of concrete over steel re-bar with minimal (1/4 inch) plaster. Nothing flammable. Sheet rock is only used in highly flammable wood frame houses, such as those found in the United States. Chinese fire code do not allow wood frame houses. If fact, there hasn't been a wood frame house built in China for at least 50 years.
