Question:

I hit a fire hydrant, what should I do?

I was driving last night, and wasn't paying attention to where I was going in a parking lot and hit and knocked over a fire hydrant I didn't really notice what I did (I thought I just hit the curb) there was no water running to it yet I guess. so I drove away the next day I noticed my bumper was bent and had some paint on it. I know somebody had to'v got my plate can I get in serious trouble for this, if so what?

Answer:

The specific law depends on the state you are in. In California, a client can fire a lawyer at any time, unless they are only firing the lawyer to mislead, prejudice, or delay suit. You also can't fire a lawyer just to disrupt the suit you are in. If you do fire the lawyer, they have the right to the reasonable value of they gave you, limited by the maximum amount they agreed to in their employment contract, or retainer. So be aware, if you fire them you might still have to pay them something. You want to fire your lawyer because you think their settlement offer is too low. Remember, they work for you: tell them to ask for more money! The settlement doesn't happen unless you agree to it. If you want more, don't agree, but you're taking the chance that you'll get nothing. You may not get enough to cover your legal bills. It all depends on your retainer: read it, or take it to another lawyer for them to read. And remember, this answer is not legal advice and shouldn't be relied on as such.
Yes, you can fire them. Of course, they have every right to make you pay for the services they have already provided for you. In other words, you can't fire them now and not expect to owe them anything.
Its never too late but if you do it sooner, you will have better proof of your injuries. If you are going to go with someone else, I suggest asking a doctor to tell you what kind of report he can put together for you, so the proof is a little more permanent.
You could setup circumventor software on your home computer, it redirects an internet address to another address thus bypassing the list of sites to block, which is used by your schools blocking software. You will need to leave your home computer on with the circumventor software running for this to work.
