I just had surgery and I haven't made a bowel movement in 4-5 days; I don't want to strain in fear that I may hurt my incision; I am takin pain meds, but I also take stool softner, laxative and prune juice, and I haven't made a move yetI am starting to feel nausea and the pressure is very uncomfortable, I JUST WANT TO POOP!! Does anyone have any suggestions or home remedies that may have worked for them or heard of that might help? :0(
I have heard no talk about this.
I don't know why, nor have I heard any talk of thisHe definitely wouldn't take the job!
Hes black and seriously accomplished.and republican in the mccain moldThis is an obvious counter to the appeal of obamamamamambama-mama
Colin Powell is a well respected Republican and in the past his name was floated as a potential presidential candidate, but he's an unlikely VP pick for McCainThey both have good military and foreign policy experience, but McCain will likely pick someone with strengths in other areasPowell also gets mentioned because as Secof State he was the first African American to hold such a high office in a Presidential administration.
You may not have had a bowel movement because you don't have anything in there to go withIf stool softeners, laxatives and prune juice haven't made a production- then what you feel is probably gas pressure and the irritation of the bowel that those things cause If you had the surgery 4-5 days ago, and haven't exactly been eating a lot, then that's highly likely the caseWhat you might need is simply fiber- both sorts, both soluble and insoluble so there is something to move alongAnd the intestine contracts in response to swallowing, so drinking fluid will help as wellYou can also massage your poor belly to help move matters alongAnd if you haven't been up moving around, that won't help much either- so try to get up walking aroundYour pain meds probably contain codeine, and that tends to make the intestine a bit sluggish as wellMy husband had the same type repair done earlier in the year, and it was about a week for him as wellIf yours was done laproscopically, you may still have residual gas from the surgery as wellMoving around and walking are the best things to move matters along, reallyIf there are foods that usually promote movement for you- corn being the usual item for most folks- try that as wellLots of whole grains, the soluble fiber drinks, salads, and fresh fruit should help as well And lots of fluids- till the molars float nearlyDon't worry about laxatives right now- they are really not what you need and will tend to just make things worse if there's not enough in the system to move alongAnd if things don't improve for you, give your doctor a call.
