I need a lead fuel additive/octane booster for a 1966 Ford Mustang. What brand should I purchase?
Octane boosters typically don't work. I would get some aircraft fuel and mix it with unleaded.
There is no conscience of opinion on if any is needed. A better solution is to have the heads reworked with stelite valve seats and more modern valves. The lead has been replaced with other additives which do the same job. An octane booster might do more good if you are running a high compression ratio engine.
