Question:

I need help buying a high chair!?

I am going to go shopping for high chair of Tuesday and I need some help. My son is almost five months old.I want one that has several hight positions, removable tray (for easy cleaning), and possibly the seat can also recline to lower angle. However, these chairs are a lot pricier than the ones that don't have many position. So what kind of a chair do you have? Do you like it? What would you change on it? Do you think I really need all those features? Thanks in advance girls.

Answer:

I bought a Graco high chair, and really like it. Especially the dishwasher-safe removable tray insert. It makes it so easy to clean up, Which is completely important in my life. It reclines, has adjustable heights, and moves easily with wheels. And we liked the colors. However, my two year old is getting big, and so we just had to go out and buy a booster seat for her. That being said, if I were going to buy a brand new high chair for my 6 week old, I would go with the Graco Blossom, because it would last longer. It's more expensive, but it does everything a regular high chair does, and has a booster seat, too. And I like how safe Graco items are.
I have the Fisher Price Precious Planet one, it's basically a different version of the rainforest one. I love it! The seat reclines far enough back that my daughter could sit in it to drink a bottle when I had things to do and couldn't hold her. The tray has a removable, dishwasher safe try thing that sits over top, which makes cleaning it very easy. The fabric is great, too, it's water repellant without being plasticky. The heights go from low enough that my daugher can eat cheerios off of it while she's wandering around the livingroom (she's a year old now) to high enough that it doesn't kill my back to feed her or put things on her tray, even standing. I love this highchair. This high chair was a bit more expensive than I wanted to pay, but after several attempts at feeding baby in the carseat on the kitchen table, it was worth it. I was also lucky enough to get the floor model, so I got 20% or something off! But I would pay full price, and am considering doing so since I'll have two little ones to feed when this one is born in September.

We have the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders high chair. I think it was like $130 and it has different heights, removable tray, reclines and has some toys on it to keep my daughter busy while I'm getting her food ready or while we are eating. The only thing I would say is I agree with the other answer on the seat material. Its not the greatest for cleaning but there are ways to cover it and I don't like the vinyl coverings anyways (I have it on my feeding seat) as if its hot and shes a little sweaty she sticks to it which can't be comfy. I do not recommend a feeding seat that straps onto your chair. I have one and my daughter can tip the whole chair over if she gets too excited in it.
