I really need help with this math question. I know the answer in the back of my textbook is 40 degrees, but i dont know how to get thatA cylindrical silo is 37 ft. high and has a diameter of 14 ft. The top of the silo can be reached by a spiral staircase that circles the silo once. What is the angle of inclination of the staircase to the nearest degree?
forget that the silo is cylindrical. think of the wall as a rectangle, 37 ft × 14π ft so the angle from the horizontal is: atan(opp/adj) = atan(37/(14π)) ≈ 40° ??
