Question:

I need some insight on solar heating for a house?

My wife and I are looking at this house that has solar heating and I just want to know a little more about how it all works. The house I'm guessing has solar panels on the roof. In the basement has what a peers to be a regular water heater, next to it is what I think is a solar water heater, it says something like quot;electric solar storage.quot; Their are also rechargeable batteries in a different room. they look like car batteries, in a different room their is some kind of small engine that has battery hookups. Plus the solar panels create heat through its own system of ventilation through the house I think. Things I would like to know is how all this works, how long it last. P.S. Would their be a normal gas or electric furnace that operates with the solar unit?

Answer:

Are these photovoltaic panels or solar hot water panels? There is a big difference. The PV panels make electricity, while the others warm water. You need a lot more info. I would call in a professional to look at the panels and the stuff in the basement.
Ground Source virtually way taking skills of the sector-broad yr circular steady temperature of the earth at two meters underneath floor stage. It is 15 C (fifty nine F). This reservoir is regularly used (UK is a well illustration) to chill air in the summertime and warmth air within the wintry weather for a tremendous vigour financial savings in an air-con/heating method. Essentially, ducting first pulls air via the bottom first earlier than it enters the method.
Yes. Himin Solar launched solar greenhouse and you can ask them to help you about solar heating for a house.
It's a good site.
The solar electric system is probably grid-tied with battery backup. The solar electric panels charge the battery bank. The small engine is likely the inverter that takes the DC power from the batteries and converts it to AC power that feeds the electric panel in the house. Or else the small engine is a generator that charges up the batteries with gas. You should get at least 40 years from the solar water heating, some parts may need to be replaced along the way. I just put used 30 year old collectors up at my house, they work perfectly. The solar electric is hard to say, depending on what batteries and how they were maintained, you may need to replace them every 6 -8 years. The solar electric panels should last for around 50 years.
