Question:

I need something to replace a drawing pallet?

I need a pallet for my painting assignment [of course] but mine is gone. dang. Instead of those cubes you use to freeze ice, what else can I use? Please, it's urgent and is submitted tomorrow.

Answer:

I have some friends who have them. All you do everyday is use a key to gently and slowly make it wider. They said that when you first get it on, the roof of your mouth feels itchy or irrited. I guess it's kind of like getting braces on, it feels sore for about a week because your not used to it. You might be sore right after making it wider but it should go away in a few minutes after you get used to it; kind of like my retainer, when I put it in after eating or whatever, it feels a little sore for about 15 minutes then it goes away. Just remember to follow your ortho's directions precisly, or you'll end up having to wear it longer and delaying getting your braces put on; plus wasting money for each extra visit to your ortho.
Its uncomfortable but not nearly as painful as it sounds. Your moving the pallet every so slightly daily. Your not breaking it, sweetie. Your just expanding it. ibuprofen will help. dont worry hun!!
