Aslo what are some good brands?
You don't have to worry about the seal on the door being waterproof in a top loader.
Given the alternative i'd % an actual loader each time All that bending down with a front loader is,nt reliable to your lower back Plus you cant supply up and open a front loader such as you could an actual one
I have owned both and I prefer top loading machines. I am forever finding something that needs to be added to the load after it has started. I can do this easily with a top loader. With the front loader I I have to wait for the machine to completely stop, look at the water level and even then I can only crack the door open and try to squeeze it in. Also, the front loader tends to smell. The gasket around the door collects water and you MUST get that water removed to keep the smell and mold to a minimum. I find myself with either a sponge or a rag sopping the water out of the folds of the door gasket. Top loaders are so much simpler!! I have a Maytag top loader right now. Love it!!
Whirlpool/Maytag for a reliable brand. As to what type, it depends a lot on your flooring. If the washer is on a covered cement floor, you can consider the front load. If there is a wooden floor under your floor covering, I would get a top load. Front load washers shake in the fast spin. You need a good, sturdy floor to keep it from vibrating the whole house. But yeah, that's the only consideration besides what you personally prefer. There is no other real advantage of one over the other except preference.
Given the choice i would choose a top loader every time All that bending down with a front loader is,nt good for your back Plus you cant stop and open a front loader like you can a top one
