Question:

I often sleep in a reclining chair?

why on earth would I feel better in the morning sleeping in that old chair than in bed? thats just crazy

Answer:

It could be that you have sleep apnea (you stop breathing momentarily while asleep which partially awakens you). That problem often disappears in a somewhat upright position. It enables you to breathe easier. My Dad has slept often in a recliner with his congestive heart failure for just this reason.
sleeping in a semi-upright position helps lots of people with back pain, poor circulation, heartburn, acid reflux, heart disease, congestion, sinus issues....I could go on and on.
You are relaxed...?? Are you afraid to fall out of bed..? Not crazy..!! comfortable..? Secure..?
I think it's very soothing and relaxing to fall asleep in a reclining chair. The reason you feel better is because your bed has springs and those springs are a killer. Do your ever wonder why you keep on tossing and turning during the night? It's those springs. They're horrible for your back. Even if you don't toss and turn, you will most likely feel stiff in the morning. Ever saw one of those Tempur-Pedic beds on a commercial? Really expensive, but probably worth the money because your back will thank you.
you must have back pain. My couch feels better, my bed kills my back.
