Answer:

put the fire on then rush to a vet
i don't ride western, so i don't want to answer for that in case i'm blatantly wrong ;) for hunter, wear a white, long-sleeve show shirt. tan and beige breeches are most traditional and common, but you could probably wear olive-toned breeches if you wear a hunt coat that matches. your hunt coat should be in a conservative color; mine is black but you could wear navy blue, or even dark grey, olive, or brown. with tan breeches black and grey look best in my opinion, i'm not a huge fan of navy blue. but its your choice there. your tall boots should be black, of course, as well as your gloves. what kind of gloves is up to you, it depends on what you think is most comfortable. your helmet should be black, too. if you don't want to buy a new show helmet for $100+, then you can get a velvet helmet cover. i have a troxel schooling helmet and i use a black velvet troxel cover for it and it looks really nice. definitely wear a stock pin on your collar. i also recommend you get a hair net to keep your hair neat and out of the way of your number. you should also keep in mind the color of your horse when selecting show clothes. if your hunt coat and breeches compliment your horse and your tack, the whole image will look considerably better than if your choice in clothes clashed with your horse's coat.
Ok, for english you need -navy or black hunt coat -light tan or beige knee patch breeches -white or light colored show shirt with a choker -stock pin -black leater or synthetic leather gloves -black velvet helmet -tall black field boots For western: -Felt cowboy hat -rail shirt -show pants -full chaps -belt -buckle -cowboy boots the color of any of those things doesn't matter, just as long as it is coordinated. For example, the outfit I am getting for western is black pants, chaps, hat, boots, and belt with a black shirt with colored stars on it and a silver belt buckle.
I agree with nearly everything said above, aside from wearing a stock pin on your choker. It doesn't matter much, but some people would even go so far as to viewing it as a safety hazard. Many people dislike them, in favor if getting your choker monogrammed. I've even heard overzealous horse show moms say, If you can't afford to go first-class, you shouldn't show at all! IMHO, I wouldn't put a stock pin on, and leave it blank. Breeches should be beige, khaki or tan. Your coat can be plain navy, or navy with pinstripes, but navy is traditional and always the safest way to go. Light pastels have been in for a while now, as long as they match your coat/pinstripes of your coat. As example, my navy hunt coat has faint purple pinstripes, and I wear a lilac colored ratcatcher. EDIT: You shouldn't be wearing a black coat in hunters. Black is traditionally dressage. Most black coats I've seen have four buttons and are single vented, instead of the traditional double vented. Gloves are a matter of preference, some girls wear black, some wear brown.
