Question:

I Thawed My Turkey.But I made a mistake HELP!?

Okay so i had my turkey in the freezer for awhile after i bought itI had it sitting in the refrigerator for the past 2 daysMy grandmother ws convinced the turkey would not be completely thawed before tomorrowEven though i was sure i began to remove the turkey from the packaging and placed it in cold water in a large crockpot that covered the small turkeyIt has been sitting like that for about 5 hoursI noticed that the turkey does appear to be thawed now or really close to itSo i then read that the turkey should have been placed in the cool water while inside the packagingSo just about 15 mins ago i surrounded it with Alumnium foil to preserve itBut i am not sure that i should have done thatBut i do not have any saran wrap or a plastic zip lock bag to hold the turkeyIs this a bad option and harmful to the turkey or is it okay since we will be cooking the turkey in about 9 hours ??

Answer:

Why not stop by your local department stores gift wrapping department and ask them for their left-over tubes? (The tubes they have are the ones inside their roles of wrapping paper which are the perfect size for ferrets.I know, I have some myselfhehe) You will sort of look like an idiot asking the employees for them but what the heck!! Put on your best smile and askThey are free AND they were just going to throw them out anywayAnd if this makes you feel better, I used to work at a department store when I was much younger and people would ALWAYS come in and ask for empty boxes and cardboardIts fairly common;)
I would recommend Tapp Plastics ( they are nation wide) they can recommend the best place to get it or look up plastic manufactures about 3 diaclear acrylic tubingI owned 6 ferrets and we had that and they loved itI would also recommend a cheaper route of black PVC tubing from your hardware store it cheaper A LOT CHEAPER and they will it love because they will be able to play hide and seek in it and be able to hunt for each other like cat and mouse gamesIf you are going to make long sections of tubing cut escape holes every few feet 1 for air and if the ferret needs to get out quicklyclean the cut edges with course grit sand paper 60 or 80 grit will doDo not use glue of any type as they will chew on the tube if you want to join 2 tubes use the flexible corrugated tubing you can get from the hardware store a little bigger than the tubinggood luck and I hope I was helpful.
This Site Might Help YouRE: Need some pipes or tubes to make homemade ferret tunnels throughout bedroom? Pretty much anything safe a flexible that can be usedNeeds to be about 3 or 3.5 inches in diameterI need quite a bit of itYou know the play places at McDonalds for kids? Well, thats basically what I'm going to do only much smaller for my two ferretsCan anyone point me in the right.
Pat your turkey dry, inside and out, with a kitchen towel, put it in plastic (a trash bag would be fine) and put it back in the fridge until you're ready to use itHaving sat in water won't hurt itIf you don't have a large enough bag, wrapping it in aluminum will also work fine.
