Question:

I was advised to add insulation to my attic, but now I am told I have enough - will it help?

Two companies told me to add and it could save me 10-20% in heating and cooling costsI had another company come and and he said quot;you have 10quot; of insulation alreadyIn this area in the country that is the recommended (R38, I think?)Adding any more and you get the point of diminishing returnsYou could add 6 more inches, but you might only save 1.5% on costs.quot; What do you think? Necessary or not?

Answer:

you might need something sturdy to make it stayupright, like pieces of clothes hanger nailed to a piece of woodyou might want to wrap that with something a little bit mushy, like tissue or toilet paper, because the clay may shrink as it dries and if it shrinks around something that isn't mushy, it will crack
the 10 should be enough .but it must be placed properly
