Question:

Ideas for my daughter's disco dance party?

My daughter loves to dance, so for her 10th birthday, I hired a DJ for a few hours (5-7 p.m.) and we're having a dance party in our finished basement20 girls are invitedWe're just having pizza, popcorn and other snacks - cake and icecream laterDo I need to provide tables and chairs? There's plenty of room for the DJ and dancing, but too many tables could make it tightI do have one round caterer's table that seats 10Can I just scatter more chairs around the room? These aren't adults, so I don't want to make anyone feel left outOn the other hand, the only time the music will stop is at 7 p.mwhen we do the cake icecream. Also, does anyone have any fun decorating ideas or ideas for items to put in the goodie bags? We're thinking of hot pink and silver for colors.

Answer:

I wouldn't have seats at the table for about 10 and not a seat at a talbe for the others, so I say just chairs or one more table that the rest of the girls can sit at! Since this is a disco dance party, have a disco ball and music inspired decorations everywhereGet on the internet and type in music notes in your images search barenlarge to copy paper size and print offCut them out carefully and hang them all along the walls and lay several of them on your food tablego to wal-mart, the fabric section and buy clear tablecloththey have huge rolls of it and will cut off what you needThis is crystal clear, easy to wipe off and reuse tons of timesplace all kinds of music notes, confetti, upside down cd's (use those internet ones or just crappy ones) and anything else that looks good on your table and then cover with the clear table clothTHis LOOKS FABULOUS! If you find another table, do the same thing to them but maybe make individual placemats that are music inspiredIf you have lots of cd's that are just junk, use them for coastersYou can also buy new blank cd's and clear threadtie the cd's on clear thread and either hang along your walls or hang from the ceilingif you hang from the ceiling, use a small fan to make them spin, this will make great shadows and lights on the walls especially if you also have a disco ballFor treat bags, I would make all the guests a great mix cd with the latest music stack up a lot of cd boxes on your table to give your snack trays and bowls some heightuse different amounts so that your food table doesn't look boringYOu could also make large piano keys out of poster board and black construction paper and put those under the clear table clothThen , your food table would look like a huge pianoIF your table is round, use aluminum foil and make it look like a huge cdI wish I knew you, I think I could have a ball helping you plan this party!! Good luck and great idea so far.
