This mechanic is causing you more problems so you have to keep going back and paying him! Do your research next time, or better yet, get a manual and learn how to fix your own ****!
is it a Lincoln dealer? if not there is your problem. Just because he is a mechanic doesn't mean he has the knowledge to take on this task and from the sound of things he doesn't really know what he is doing he used you as a ginepig. Cut your loses and get it to a dealer or find someone who can convert it over to conventional suspension and be done with the air ride nightmare.
stick a penny in the tire tread with Lincoln's head on the top. if you can see the top of his head, the tread is bad. don't buy Chinese tires either.
make sure there are no cracks in the side walls and check for the rubber been perished and remember the Tyre law in the uk is 1.6 mm over 75% of the unbroken tyre width (in one big piece) and has to have the pattern seen all over it no bald spots
examine the tire allot lol check for dry cracks or missing rubber around the belt also see if there is a ton of patch on the tire and check the tread on the tire also examine the steal belt on the inside make sure no metal showing inside the tire or around the bead were it mounts on the rim
