Question:

if a ceramic dish says its safe for microwave can it go in the oven?

I bough a ceramic bowl that says it is safe for dishwasher microwave ,and I want to make a pot pie in it, that needs to go in the oven ad be baked. is this ok?

Answer:

1.Turn key to the on position but don't start car 2. Pull the PCM BAT and PCM IGN fuses in engine compartment 3. Wait approximately 5 minutes 4. Turn ignition off 5. Replace fuses 6. Start the car and then make sure the light has gone off
Try making sure the new gas cap is tight. If you don't hear 3 clicks it may be letting fumes out which will trigger check engine light.
Has to be reset. I don't know if you can do that yourself. I have a Snap-on diagnostic scanning tool that does it. I don't know if the $30-$50 ones from Auto Parts stores will do that or not. I don't know if you disconnect the battery if that will work or not. It will temporarily mess up the computer and the security system on your radio. Both of which can be overcome but you must know the radio security code to make it work again. The computer will just have to run a while to reset the driveablility settings.
For the best answers, search on this site shorturl.im/aw4jL Most handmade pottery can be used in the oven, however, with ceramics (porcelain, stoneware, or earthenware) you need to worry about thermal shock. It you take a piece from a cold refrigerator and put it into an already hot oven, or if you take a piece from a hot oven and put it on a cold counter, then you may have cracking due to thermal shock. For heating in the oven you need to put the piece in a cold oven and heat up slowly for best results. There is a special clay that is used for flameware. This is a high thermal shock resistant clay body with a large amount of grog for pieces used on top of the stove that can take direct heat. Hopefully a label will say oven proof as well as microwave safe and dish washer safe, because heating in an oven is very different than heating in a microwave. So be very careful if you choose to try your piece in the oven.
Ceramic dishes provide the advantage of cooking or baking food in the same containers in which they are served. With proper handling and care, they can safely be used in both conventional and microwave ovens. Foods in ceramic dishes can safely withstand oven temperatures up to 550 F. The vessels can also be placed under broiler elements without risk. Microwave ovens are safe to use for cooking or reheating foods in ceramic dishes. Never use ceramic dishes for stove-top cooking. Avoid tapping spoons or other serving utensils on ceramic as they may chip or crack the surface. Some ceramic dishes have uneven bottoms that can scratch wood or glass surfaces. Use potholders or oven mitts when removing ceramic dishes from ovens. Place paper towels or other cushioning materials between dishes that are stacked to avoid breakage and surface abrasion. Let ceramic dishes cool before placing them into water to prevent cracking or breaking.
