Question:

If cooking a steak with a dry rub on a cast iron surface, how high should I have the temperature?

To avoid burning the spices in the rub.

Answer:

not enough power in the round to put another round in the chamber either use a high grade bullet or find a lighter buffer
I was also thinking that if it's a new rifle, it may just need to be (hate to use the word) broken in a little bitSometimes, the parts just need a little time to wear in.
the buffer helps reduce recoil.
Use both the cast iron pan on the stove top and in the ovenAnd use the highest heat possiblePreheat the oven to 450 degreesRub olive oil lightly on the steak and then the spice rubPreheat the cast iron on high heat for at least five minutes- needs to be smoking hot- when you sprinkle a drop of water it should evaporate immediatelySear the steak ( use your cooking fan!) for 1 minute on each side and move the cast iron pan ( using a VERY good mitt) to the preheated ovenCook for 4 minutes ( for a one inch steak) remove and cover with aluminum foil, let sit for 5 minutes, uncover, and you will have the perfect steak!
