Question:

If I am fired in the workplace because of a statement that I did not make?

Do I have any legal recourse? They did not even confront me with the mans statement but a guy I worked with told me about it and he said the boss told that is why I was fired. When I was fired I was told I turned around the profits of the terminal I was in. The person who made this statement was any because he did not want to do his work and he had to take orders from me. I told him to get to work. He called HR behind my back and made up a story that resulted in my dismissal. I am in an at will state. Which means you can be fired for any reason or non reason. I do not want my good name ruined because of a lie from a teenager who does not want to work. Can I sue for slander? The person? The company? Thanks for anything you can tell me.

Answer:

Unless the firemen were on call at the fire station, it would have taken them at least 15 minutes to get there, jump on the trucks and make their way over to your house. If they went to the wrong house, it was probably because someone else reported the fire. The procedure now is to go to the place from where the call is made. Not their fault that some retard in Washington made a stupid rule. Who do you hold responsible? I would have thought the person who started the fire. Unless the house was struck by lightening, someone in the house did something stupid. Not sure where you are going with this but start asking questions. The insurance company will need to know anyway.
Unfortunately, not every emergency response goes well, and fire departments vary tremendously in terms of their resources and competence. But to get to the heart of your question, yes, you can sue the fire department or municipality, but the bar is very high to prove negligence. It's unlikely you would realize a favorable outcome, and you'd probably just spend a lot on legal fees.
The job of the police is NOT to retaliate. That is the job of vigilantes. The job of the police is to serve and protect. It says so right on their cars.
Wowsomeone is mental. How is it the fire department's fault that they arrived at the wrong house? Do you have recordings from all the calls giving them your address? No, you do not. Your brother was traumatized because the fire fighters were unrolling the fire hose? Well, your brother needs to see a shrink if that traumatized him. How else do you expect them to put out the fire, piss on it? Why would your brother accuse anyone for stealing his wallet if he did not have proof? No, a ambulance is not called all the time. How did they know you ran out of the house holding your 5 year old son? How the hell do you trip on a 5 year old's rob? They cannot help it that you are clumsy. Why was everyone panicking and having panic attacks? You all must be screwed up! Again, how is it the fire fighters fault that everyone was having panic attacks? Oh, you expect the fire fighters to carry with them at all times blankets and shoes? LMAOnot going to happen. You have no case. One thing I would like to know is how did the house catch on fire? I bet you or a family member had something to do with it. If that's the case, then maybe the fire fighters should sue you and your family for putting them in danger and your neighbors? EDIT: Well, maybe the fire fighters and your neighbors should sue you since it was YOUR fault (electrical problem). Secondly, when did you become a Paramedic/EMT or fire fighter stating smoke inhalation? In order to get smoke inhalation, you need to be in the smoke for a period of time. Again, you have not stated what address was given to the fire department that arrived to the wrong house. Why did another fire department show up? The only time another department shows up is if the other fire department would request some help. Why was your brother traumatized? Let me see, when did you become a psychiatrist?
