Question:

If iron can destroy stars then?

Can we kill em to my shooting iron cannon balls into them?It might seem like a silly question but I wounder

Answer:

Not likely. Iron doesn't destroy stars until the entire core (say, the centermost 10% of it's mass) is entirely converted to iron or nickel by nuclear fusion. Adding iron to the core might displace other fusables in the core; so if you fired enough iron (say again, 10% of the star's mass) in and it wound up in the core, then that might trigger a supernova, but there are lots of effects that could happen to thwart the project as well. For example, the core might not allow the iron to sink into an actively fusing area.
if you are on Dancing with the stars and get hit by a cannon ball , you might be killed LOL Do you have any idea what you are talking about iron does NOT destroy stars iron is an element created by Nuclear reactions in stars. when the star has too much iron the reactions do not work well and the star first collapeses and then explodes learn some science
I think it is not a logical question. However, Since star is a gas with plenty of nuclear fusion and( fission also?) all through, your iron cannon balls turn nuclear energy with fusion. But there are many factors to be consider in your question like, mass of the iron cannon ball to hit, momentum, the device that you hit by yourself or by some other means? , so onThank you
