Question:

if it says quartz does it mean its fake?

if it says quartz does it mean its fake?

Answer:

I would have to say no. It should be in there for atleast a couple of weeks. I don't really know, sorry. Good luck...
Usually piercers ask that you wait somewhere between one and two weeks for your swelling to go down. 5 days is pushing this limit, since changing it at 5 days may aggravate it into swelling back up. Since you haven't gotten it done yet, I would work with your piercer to estimate how long of a retainer you will need for your swelling and order one that length. Then order a second one that's a bit shorter you can switch to in a couple of weeks. If you are using a quartz glass retainer, it can be sterilized and used as your initial jewelry. Wearing this retainer immediately will save you the wear and tear of trying to change your jewelry 5 days later. If this plan won't work for you, return to your piercer and ask them to change it out for you. Your piercer will be able to keep the process clean and change it out with less stress on your piercing. Trying to change it yourself will mean putting in unsterile jewelry and running the risk of it swelling shut before you can get the new jewelry in place. You may be able to do it yourself, but it's easier and cleaner to allow your piercer to do it. Discuss the issue with your piercer and see what they recommend.
