Question:

If the AC motor goes out, will it affect the engine of my Ford truck?

I'm trying to drive out of town on a two hour drive and I want to make sure that it is safe.

Answer:

Not too sure what you mean by the AC motor The AC compressor is run by the motor and the AC fan is electrical. So, if its not cooling, just switch off the AC on the controls and you'll be fine. If the fan isn't working, I'd turn that off too. If, the compressor has locked up and the fan belt has broken, that might be a serious problem. But, most likely, you could just turn the AC off and drive it as far as you like.
as long as the pully on the compressor is not seized up you are ok. just without a/c
First I need some clairity. First are your refuring to the ac compressure, or the ac blower motor?? If it is the ac blower motor yes, it is ok. If it is the ac compressure yes it is safe as long as you don't turn on the air.
are you talking about the ac compressor? a little different that a motor. if this is the case, then the truck should be fine to drive. you might not like the heat in the cab, but the truck will get you there. as long as the clutch itself is still able to free wheel, you will be fine.
By AC motor I am assuming that you mean AC compressor right? If so yes it very well can leave you stranded if the ac compressor should lock up, throws the belt or if the compresor clutch pulley bearing locks up witch will ruin the belt too. If the AC compresor does lock up it still might can be driven if the AC system is turned off in time before any belt damage can be caused as long as the comp. clutch pulley bearing itself is not locked up. If you supect the AC comp. is going out it would be best to drive with the ac off. Perferably with either the comp. field coil unpluged or for easier access remove the conector from the ac cycling switch located on the ac systems accumalator. If your comp. is noisy, I would recomened you have it looked at by a qualified service tech. before going on a trip.
